Yahoo! Good for you Andi! My good news would be that 100% of the tax refund went to debt reduction. It was tempting to just use a little bit of it for something fun, but the direct deposit of the refund and the electronic payment to Visa made it quick and painless.

My tax refund is going DIRECTLY into my emergency fund and will almost complete it!!! Now I can concentrate on earning more to put to the debt. I am actually motivated to work harder to make this happen this year. I am nearly finished with week 6 of the Debt Fast and doing pretty good with only one real slip. This is the best I have done EVER.

Thanks, Monica and well done yourself!
Shauna, I did the same thing with my tax refund. Directly into savings. I knew if I started treating myself it would never stop... Congrats on the Fast, I hope you're getting huge results!

I reached my halfway point this week....10K down to 5K. It's all about the small wins that will add into big wins if we keep going!

Congratulations Andi! That's an amazing accomplishment!
Our big accomplishment so far: all three of our credit cards are under $1000! I got a big chunk of cash for my birthday and it went straight onto debt. We are well on our way to paying off all our consumer debt and starting on our student loan debt! That will be a bigger chunk to pay off, but we only have my husband's loan left.

Congratulations to all of you. Nice to hear about some progress. Our good news latley? A $2,300 tax refund. Of course, all of it, and more, will go to pay for our kids summer daycamp, which needs to be paid in advance and thus will put a balance back on our paid off credit card for a short time. And my wife's recent emergency surgery and week long hospital stay will cost at least another $5K. But, on the bright side, it's $2300 we didn't know we had.

Bring on number seventy one!

Andi-
I'm so happy for you! I'm getting closer and closer to being able to write a post like this of my own, and it cheers me up when I see other people succeeding in this process.

I just paid off my FIRST loan! So exciting! 8 more and several years to go, but I have been waiting so long for this moment. :)
Anyone else have any good news to share?
